Metal detecting is a hobby that you can do no matter what State you are in. Most metal detectors will break down and can be carried in a backpack or detector bag. That makes travelling with your detector very convenient.
Recently, I travelled to Kansas with a detecting buddy and we found some great relics and even a shield nickel on our hunt. It was nice to detect in a new area and find different types of targets than I’m used to finding back home.
We’ll surely hunt there again soon, and I can’t wait to get together with a good friend and see what else we can find. A good trip is good for the soul!
So, that leads me to this weeks Poll: Do You travel to metal detect? Are you one to go where the treasure is, or are you more comfortable closer to home?
Sometimes vacations just so happen to include a little metal detecting. It’s not our fault that our detectors somehow end up in the back with the rest of the luggage. I mean, do our ladies really expect us to drive 463 miles to their sister’s wedding to watch her tie the knot with “what’s his name” and not do any detecting while we’re there? I don’t know about you, but if I travel then my detector travels too!
