You’re detecting with a buddy that brought you along on a permission that he secured at a beautiful 1837 Colonial house. You are both having a great hunt and have made some amazing finds there.
Unbeknownst to you at some point your friend cut an underground cable wire while digging. After a few hours the property owner comes home as you are wrapping up your hunt and he goes inside the house. A few minutes later he comes out yelling and he is hopping mad and letting the spit fly.
You catch bits and pieces of what he is saying and figure out that he is mad about some cable wire being cut in half. Your buddy that brought you there tries to calm the homeowner down and that’s when you hear him say “I am sorry, I didn’t know my friend cut the cable in half!”
Wait just a minute! Did he just lie and tell the homeowner that YOU cut the underground cable in half?
