Continually working to max out the depth capabilities with our detectors can help us pull deep targets from hunted out sites and other places we otherwise wouldn't have recovered them.   Improving depth is a continual process that is best worked on with known targets in a test garden in your yard.  Here are 9 tips for increasing your detectors depth, and better recognizing deep targets when your coil passes over them:

depth_gbIf your detector has a ground balance function, setting it properly and regularly is critical to assure your detector deals with mineralization (ie iron) in the ground and affords you maximum depth.

    here is another tip, if you find a coin or whatever close to the surface make sure to rescan the hole as I once found an standing liberty quarter about 7 inches below a penny that was close to the surface. the penny was masking the quarter.
