100 FINDS IN 100 DAYS: #41 Greatest Dog in the World

In this series, we have selected 100 metal detecting finds that were extremely difficult to detect and recover, and provide details on the circumstances and techniques that contributed to their successful recovery.

KEEPER:  Taking a break to count my blessings.   This is my dog Bobo.  Believe it or not, he is a half Great Dane, half Cocker Spaniel.

To stay on track, here is a mercury dime I found one time.

To stay technically on track with 100 finds, here is a mercury dime I found one time.   It was under the 1860s CW bullet above it.  Explain that.

SITE:  Flea Market in Alabama

SITE EVALUATION: 5 of 10  Found some cool stuff there!

PERMISSION:  None.  My friend Amanda gave him to my daughter without permission LOL.

KEY PRINCIPLES:

Unexpected blessings  A friend of ours bought Bobo from a puppy mill operator who threatened to bash his head in with a rock if she didn’t give him 20 bucks for the poor thing.   I didn’t even want a dog.  I yelled several expletives when she gave it to my daughter as a gift.  Bobo sleeps with us now.  I wouldn’t trade him for Snoopy and Lassie.

Yes he is still THAT cute.

Yes he is still THAT cute.  This photo was taken while I was metal detecting.  My daughter is holding one of my finds in her hands in the photo.
