100 FINDS IN 100 DAYS: #4 1920-1930s Good Luck Token

In this series, we have selected 100 metal detecting finds that were extremely difficult to detect and recover, and provide details on the circumstances and techniques that contributed to their successful recovery.

KEEPER:  This is one of my favorite tokens.     I love the color.  I love the mystical theme.  The reverse carries a giant Swastika, an ancient symbol of good luck that only meant “Nazi” after this coin was minted.

SITE:  House Being Torn Down

SITE EVALUATION: 8 of 10  Found many bullets, silver coins, a gold ring, and pieces of artillery shells here.

PERMISSION:  Developer

KEY PRINCIPLES:

Right Up Against House:   This find would have been missed if I hadn’t got right up against the house, which is something that can be very uncomfortable.  In this instance, the house was abandoned, and I nailed this cool find within a 6 inches of the foundation.
